1-Day Bird Watching Safari

This one day safari is basically aimed at bird watching especially the rare Shoe-Bill at Mabamba swamp. Mabamba swamp wetland is located in Kasanje which is found on the fringes of Lake Victoria that is the largest fresh water lake in Africa and the second largest fresh water lake In the world. The journey to Mabamba swamp takes one hour depending on the stop overs encountered. The highlight of this one day safari is Bird watching especially watching the rare Shoe-Bill.

Itineraries

To reach Mabamba swamp, you will board a boat/canoe with a professional birding guide in search of the rare Shoe-bill, which is most times seen standing in the mashes, waiting to fly into the air above the papyrus plants. While searching for this incredible shoe-bill, you should expect to see other several bird species such as the African Jacana, Purple Heron, and White Winged Terns, Red-billed fire-finch, Long toes Lapwing, African Marsh harrier, African fish eagle and others. After this bird watching experience, you will have lunch from a hotel in Mabamba and then embark on your journey back to Nakyogo landing site where your vehicle will be waiting to transfer you to Entebbe international airport for your flight or Entebbe town incase you still wish to stay in the country for other programs.
